Exercise AIDO1 - Make a submission to the AI-DO (15 points)

  • A score on the leaderboard (5 points - higher score = more points)
  • A very brief writeup of your approach submitted here (5 points)
  • A video of your real robot and a log (in ROS bag format) of you running the lane following demo in Duckietown uploaded here (5 points)

The steps involved:

  1. Follow the quick start guide for making a submission

  2. Develop your method based on one of the templates. The baselines are there to help but they are a WIP.

  3. Reproduce the lane following demo on the real robot

  4. Learn how to take a log

Note: If you don’t reflash your SD card - you will need to enable swap space or you will run out of RAM when you try to lane following.

The steps are the following:

  1. ssh into your robot
  2. sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/swap0 bs=1M count=1024
  3. sudo mkswap /swap0
  4. Edit the file /etc/fstab and add /swap0 swap swap at the end
  5. sudo chmod 0600 /swap0
  6. sudo swapon -a
